I decided to visit again cos I got nothing to do right now. 1433 days since i joined, quite a number...
The past few weeks have gone by pretty fast. I actually wanted to blog about how I did for my final exam, VCE, after it was finally over. But a whole bunch of events came up and never had the time to do so. And now I just don't care about the exam any more hahaha.
Oh well, a bit of comment on it wouldn't hurt. I feel like I did quite well for it, like 80%-90% for everything, but that's just a feeling. There's another feeling that I have which tells me that my previous feeling is a whole bunch of lies. You know, that little voice in your head that says "you idiot, you did some question wrong, you're gonna fail". But hey, we gotta have hope right!?
And anyway, one thing I kept telling myself during the few months before exam (which was something I learned from Cowes camp earlier this year), was that "It's better to aim high and miss, than to aim low and hit". With that in mind, I worked hard and survived the exam. If I get a good result, more than one person would be proud I guess. If not, then at least I can say "I did a lot to earn this", and not "I should have done more".
So, events (those that I can remember clearly) that came up straight after the last exam:
Nov 12, Thurs - Went to the beach, then Karaoke till 2am
Nov 13, Fri - Went to basketball, then slept over at friend's house. Didn't sleep, stayed up all night playing dota.
Nov 16, Mon - Pool party at another friend's house. (Played drums, was awesome :D)
Nov 17, Tues - Badminton at Monash Uni. Made my hamstrings and butt sore, painful.
Nov 19, Thurs - Beach again, this time to celebrate other people's final exam day. Didn't go karaoke. Lol.
Nov 20, Fri - Party at friend's house. Kinda fail cos it was all guys and one girl. Not too bad though. Left ankle got scratched while playing basketball.
Nov 21, Sat - Rejoined tennis competition. Lost singles, one doubles. Won one doubles. The scratch was quite distracting. Then pulled right hamstring (which was still sore from badminton), and hurt like.... Also managed to split my shoe laces in two. Also had to walk all the way back after waiting for the bus for half an hour and realize that it won't be coming for some unknown reason, and later on find out that the bus just zoomed passed me after 30 minutes of walking with a busted hamstring and half a pair of shoelaces done. Yes I am complaining about something that I have no control over. But as they say, "What doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
Nov 23, Mon afternoon after training - Pulled weeds in the backyard. Hamstrings didn't hurt from squatting :D
Nov 24, Tues - MORE WEEDS DESTROYED MUAHAHAHAHAHA. Squatting there for a long time kills the legs though, couldn't walk properly. And thus the leg injuries continue.
Nov 25, Wed - Surprise-Farewell party for a friend who's going back to Malaysia to study after studying here for 2 years cos its too costly. Had a fun time quietly laughing at the way I was walking while I was going to and back from the party.
Nov 27, Fri - Supposed to be a 1 hr catch-up tennis lesson, ended up as a 30 min one cos my "crippled" legs weren't working properly, and I twisted my right ankle. Awesome time walking home. Yup.. . . . . . . . .
Nov 28, Sat - Tennis comp, got destroyed, legs still weren't working very well, I could feel them scrambling around to do what I want to do, and the ankle just doesn't want me to run after the ball.
For the times which I didn't have anything going on, I was playing one of these games:
- Pokemon: Leaf Green on Visual Boy Advanced
- Guitar Hero 2 on PS2, finished Easy/Medium mode (five stars in all songs), half way through Hard now (no five stars)
- DotA till midnight :D
- Dragon Age: Origins, I find it kinda hard sometimes even in easy mode... I'm probably playing it wrong but meh...
Oh yea, its been awesome to play Dota with the clan again. We have down times and we have pwn times (hey that kinda rhymes), but in the end its the team play that I love the most. Also, hearing live shoutcasts from the SMM tourney was just awesome. Gives me an adrenaline rush-ish feeling when I hear the commentators go crazy like they were watching a football match and someone was about to score a goal, only they're getting excited about virtual murder! OH EM GHEE. "GEEGEE" says the guy at the end of the game.
Now that I've mentioned that, I just wanna say that I think it's kinda... unusual to say gaming is a sport. I mean, sports involves sweat, and exercise, and losing weight, and lots of other stuff like teamwork and sportsmanship of course, where as gaming is just sitting there and...well, gaming (with teamwork and such). Imagine this scenario:
Mom: Boy! Stop playing games! You getting FAT! GO OUT AND DO SOMETHING.
Boy: But I'm this is a sport, I am EXERCISING!
Mom: Oh okay then. Keep exercising.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that gaming should be in another category, not sports... But then again, I guess that's why they added an "e" in front of it and made it and e-sport. Which I find to be kinda lame.
I think they're saying anything that involves teamwork and sportsmanship is a sport. Exercise doesn't matter. :D lol
Anyways, i think i'm done with my rantings.
